Multimedia Applications Personal Authoring Lab
System for the construction and management of Multimedia presentations for information points equipped with touch-screens (Info-Kiosks)
Features of the system:
The information services system that we have created is called P.A.L. (Personal Authoring Lab) and operates under an MS-Windows graphic environment (Win. 3.1., WfW, Win.95).
For the management of the descriptive information we use the Database Access (Access Jet Engine). For the management of the Multimedia features and the digital maps, we use special management libraries and custom made routines. The design is based on the objects linked hierarchically between them, thus creating in this way a structure (tree), which defines the flow of the presentation.
Every graphical object (button, label etc.) has its own characteristics (Title, size, color, work that follows etc.)
All of the above we connect with an easy to use user interface in order to achieve the maximum possible friendliness to the end-user.
The system comprises the following parts:
Part of design of presentation scenario
Part of control and management of the Database information
