Summary and prospects

Today the sensible and permanent integration of refugees and migrants is a central socio-political challenge not only for Europe.

Existing xenophobia, increasing populism and structural changes in the labour markets are impediments which very often stand in the way of sensible and lasting integration policy.

Non-action in this field and shying away from challenges will only intensify existing crises. New solutions and sensible integration policy are required.

The transnational project IN.LAN.DER is meant as pilot scheme, which tries to develop and offer effective instruments and objective perspectives.

The situation on the labour market is a problematic area in the integration of refugees, migrants and repatriated persons.

Measures for the improvement of individual vocational competence and a realistic view of the situation of the labour market play a very important role.

This is where IN.LAN.DER started work. The ability of the participating organisations, the continuous exchange of experiences and the common aims made it possible to create and absolutely new proceeding in this socio-politically very sensitive area.

The concepts and measures, which are presented briefly in this publication, illustrate a model for the future whose results give impulse for integration politics. This project should also be an example for other organisations working in this field.

Positive experiences of all participants and the effective transnational co-operation shows the advantages and at the same time the necessity of transnational solutions in the refugees and migrants issue.
